Incorporating a child's native language in the classroom enriches the learning environment and fosters an inclusive atmosphere. Teaching class songs in both English and the child's native language not only validates the child's background but also enhances their engagement with the material. This dual-language approach helps children feel more comfortable and confident, promotes cultural appreciation, and aids in language development by allowing them to draw connections between languages.

Providing all instructions in English or limiting conversations solely to English excludes non-English speakers from participating fully in the classroom community. Encouraging reading solely in English can hinder a child's literacy development if that is not their primary language, potentially creating barriers to understanding the content being delivered. Overall, bilingual songs serve as a bridge that facilitates meaningful interaction and connection with the curriculum and peers.
